Joseph Yieleh Chireh
Joseph Yieleh Chireh is a Ghanaian by birth and a native of Lassia – Tuolu, Wa West in the Upper West Region of the Republic of Ghana. He is married with four (4) children. He has a wealth of diversified working experience especially in the Health Sector and has held several political positions dating back to the erstwhile PNDC era.
He was the Chairman of the Procurement Taskforce set up by the PNDC Government in 1991 and is credited with spearheading the investigations of procurement malpractices in selected MDAs notably the Ministry of Health, Volta River Authority, Electricity Corporation of Ghana as well as the erstwhile Post & Telecommunications Corporation. In 1997, he was appointed as the Ambassador Plenipotentiary & Extraordinaire to Algeria with concurrent Accreditation to Tunisia, Mauritania and the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic.
Between 2009 and 2012, he held ministerial positions in the Health and Local Government and Rural Development Sectors. He was also a member of the Appointments, Foreign Affairs and Employment as well as State Enterprises Committees.
He has been a Member of Parliament for Wa West from 2005 to date. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and holds a certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
