Mr Osahon E. Ogieva
Deputy Managing Director
Mr. Osahon E. Ogieva’s banking career commenced over two and half decades ago in 1998 with UBA Bank Plc in Nigeria. After seven years he moved on to Fidelity Bank Plc in Nigeria. He later joined the FirstBank Group in 2015 and is currently the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of FirstBank Ghana.
He has over 25 years of multi-sector experience spanning Petroleum Services, Manufacturing, Banking and Financial Services. His expertise covers the broad areas of Administration, Project Management, Risk Management, Loan Administration and Controls, Credit, Marketing, and Relationship Banking.
Prior to being appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of FirstBank Ghana, he was the Group Head, Telecoms and other Conglomerates Businesses within the Corporate Banking Directorate at FirstBank Nigeria where he led deal origination, high-level negotiations, and complex transaction structuring, contributing to the Bank’s leadership position in Nigeria’s banking sector. In this role, he achieved significant business growth, profitability and performance driven results.
A trained economist, Mr. Ogieva earned his first degree in Economics from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He holds a Joint MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA and the Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada, in addition to an MBA from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. His credentials are complemented by extensive executive education from globally renowned institutions including Stanford University (USA), INSEAD (France), Cranfield School of Management (UK), and the Lagos Business School (Nigeria).
Over the past two decades, Mr. Ogieva has been recognised as a thought leader in macroeconomic policy and has been actively involved in virtually every landmark telecom sector deal in Nigeria during that period.
Mr. Ogieva is a devoted family man, married with children, and finds joy and fulfilment in spending quality time with his family and friends. An avid reader and writer, he has a deep appreciation for learning, storytelling, and sharing ideas that inspire others.
