Mr. Callistus Obetta
Group Executive, Technology and Services, First Bank
Mr. Callistus Obetta, a Chartered Accountant and an Honorary Senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, joins the FBNBank Ghana Board with extensive experience gained from a three-decade career spanning technology, business strategy, transformation and executive management.
Callistus is currently the Group Executive, Technology and Services, First Bank of Nigeria Limited. In this role, he has overall responsibility for strategy formulation and leading the team charged with transforming and operating the technology platforms and banking services that power First Bank and its subsidiaries.
Until his appointment in July 2016, he was the Chief Information Officer and Country Head, Group Technology and Operations at Standard Chartered Bank of Nigeria which he joined in 1999. Callistus commenced his career in 1991 in Arthur Andersen (now KPMG Professional Services) as Graduate Trainee.
A thought-leader, he has participated in various Banking Industry Technical Committees in technology, payments and banking operations and he was the pioneer Chairman of the Central Bank of Nigeria sponsored Banking industry IT Standards Council that advises the industry best practice IT standards.
Callistus is a First Class honours graduate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka and he holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, UK.
